Scoop here they are – BTS of Geico’s spot with Tag Team

(Tag Team speaks with Colin Costello)

There are good spots. There are great spots. There are award-winning spots. And then there is that rare spot that resonates so much with society that it becomes a part of culture. In the 80s, there was Wendy’s “Where’s the beef?” In the 90s, Budweiser’s frogs and ants had their say, did their dance and became a part of our lexicon. Add Scoop there it is to those legendary phrases.

Now, there’s the Martin Agency’s new Geico spot featuring the old school hip hop/pop group, Tag Team, which is comprised of Cecil Glenn (DC the Brain Supreme) and Steve Gibson (Steve Rolln). The spot, actually titled, “Tag Team helps with Dessert,” was released in December, caught fire and now has over 13 million views on YouTube and is currently the number one spot in the country.

It’s a spot you cannot escape (nor would you want to) during weekend televised sports.

According to Gibson, the TVC is now on its way to becoming Geico’s most popular commercial ever. This is the same company that gave us the GEICO Gecko, the GEICO Cavemen, the Rhetorical Questions campaign featuring Mike McGlone, Maxwell the Pig, and the GEICO Hump Day Camel.

And it’s easy to see why. So, instead of reading more from me, why not watch my ZOOM interview with the duo below:
