DDB Prague’s aMAZING social campaign for McDelivery

(DDB-Prague introduces McDelivery)

Have you ever thought about how much time you’ve spent cooking lately? Especially in quarantine? Believe us when we say The Reel 360 Team has upped our culinary skills substantially. But every now and then we just want/need to order out. Then comes this clever print and online introduction (and reminder) to McDonald’s McDelivery from DDB Prague. And it’s our Reel Ad of the Week.

McDonald’s is usually located in very accessible areas. But, when you’re at home and the craving hits you, it’s still quite a mission to get there. So when DDB Prague was briefed by McDonald’s to create a campaign to announce their new McDelivery service, this insight brought about the The I’mPossible Maze.

Posted on DDB Worldwide’s Instagram, the three ads cleverly use mazes to get from McDonald’s to your home. “McDonald’s McDelivery workers go to great lengths to get you those fries. To announce McDonald’s Czech Republic’s new delivery service, @ddbprague created a print and online campaign that illustrates the lengths delivery people go to deliver meals.”

“Growing up, I remember playing the maze game, it was always a fun challenge. So when we wanted to demonstrate how easy McDonald’s is making getting their food with McDelivery, this seemed like a really fun way to get people to engage with the brand”, says Radouane Hadj Moussa, Chief Creative Officer DDB.

The campaign not only consists of three fun posters that showed different McDonald’s products as mazes, but the mazes were also turned into online games too. Using phone’s gyroscope, users of the McDonald’s mobile app could actually play the maze game, and those who successfully completed the maze, could redeem a coupon for a free Uber Eats delivery.
