UPS spotlights small business impact with Two Dreams

UPS

“Small businesses are started by someone with a dream.” The new UPS campaign, coinciding with The Masters, shines a spotlight on how true that statement is.

Developed by The Martin Agency, the campaign’s centerpiece is a film titled ‘Two Dreams,’ which highlights the story of Sam Shockley – a veteran who lost both of his legs in Afghanistan. After 60 surgeries, he just wanted to play golf again.

Thanks to small business owner Deryck Jernigan, Sam can do just that. Deryck owns SoloRider, a company that creates single-rider golf carts meant to get players with disabilities back onto the links.

‘Two Dreams’ encapsulates the essence of UPS’ ‘Be Unstoppable’ platform, emphasizing the role of small businesses in empowering communities and fulfilling dreams. By showcasing SoloRider and its founder, Jernigan, the campaign underscores UPS’ commitment to supporting small business owners and fostering inclusivity. Watch below:

In addition to raising awareness, UPS is taking tangible steps to promote accessibility in golf. By purchasing two SoloRiders and donating them to golf courses lacking accessibility options, UPS is facilitating greater inclusivity in the sport and expanding opportunities for players with disabilities, like Sam Shockley, a veteran who lost both legs in Afghanistan and found solace in golf thanks to SoloRider.

The campaign aligns with UPS’ broader initiatives to uplift diverse-owned businesses, with over $1.5 million in grants already donated. Partnerships with influential entities like New York Fashion Week, Hypebeast Ltd, and Complex Networks further underscore UPS’ dedication to empowering small businesses. Watch below:

The campaign’s message resonates deeply, highlighting the transformative power of small businesses and their ability to make dreams a reality. Through partnerships and initiatives like these, UPS continues to champion diversity, inclusion, and progress in communities across the country.
