Pigeon Roost flocks to Chicago

Welcome to the Windy City, Pigeon Roost. The company, repped by Laurel Dobose at Gypsy, launched in Los Angeles and Memphis in 2016, and has since expanded to Chicago and Athens, Greece.

Pigeon Roost is a commercial, branded content, and feature film production company. They describe themselves as a,”partner with brands and agencies big and small, international and domestic, to tell compelling narrative and documentary stories.”

A look at their roster of directors and creatives, you’ll see a fairly unique and diverse group of many styles, voices, and a deep body of work coming from many corners of the world, including some in Chicago.

Some of the newer directors include German director Pascal Heiduk. Pascal directs high-end automotive, sport, and lifestyle films for Mercedes, Ram Trucks, Samsung, Montblanc, Bose, and BMW, all with a fresh, emotive, and kinetic style. Here is a sample of Heiduk’s work for Montblanc:

Another director to join the roster (or “rooster”) is Doug Kerrigan. The Portland-based helmer specializes in urban, athletic, and VFX-oriented films and content, with an often bizarre, artful approach. He has recently completed a series for adidas Basketball 2019 with James Harden, and a campaign for adidas Running 2019.

Here is an example of his work with the Rockets’ Harden:

Pigeon Roost recently finished a multi-film, international campaign in partnership with Jeep & World Surf League, written and directed by Chicago-based Ryan Andrej Lough. Those short films hit the airwaves in April and May.

Pigeon Roost’s EP and Creative Director, Ryan Andrej Lough, also had a Netflix Original Film released globally in early 2019 called IO.

Chicago becomes the main hub for the company’s branded content and commercial division, with brick and mortar in River North.
