Creative technology studio Preymaker has expanded its creative leadership team with the addition of Theuns Van Rensburg and Robert Bruce, two veteran visual effects artists whose work spans award-winning commercials and major feature films.

Both join Preymaker as creatives, bringing extensive experience in VFX supervision, compositing, team leadership and production innovation.

“Theuns and Robert are two of the industry’s most talented artists, with strong track records not only for creative excellence but also as team leaders,” said Angus Kneale, Preymaker’s Chief Creative. “They are both great people, and we know they will make a big impact on our work and culture. They’ll also help grow our creative team to be the best artists they can be. We’re very happy to have them join us.”

Van Rensburg comes to Preymaker from Framestore, where he served as VFX and Compositing Supervisor on campaigns for Nissan, Coors, Snapdragon, booking.com, Cadbury, Coca-Cola, Audi and other major brands.

His recent credits include serving as 2D Lead on Pepsi’s 2026 Super Bowl spot “The Choice,” featuring fully CG Pepsi polar bears. The commercial won a Gold ANDY Award and ranked No. 3 on USA Today’s Super Bowl Ad Meter.

He also worked on booking.com’s 2023 Super Bowl commercial “Somewhere, Anywhere,” starring Melissa McCarthy, which became the game’s most-watched ad on YouTube.

“I joined Preymaker because it feels like a place where strong craft and curiosity go hand in hand,” said Van Rensburg. “I’m looking forward to both mentoring and learning from the team, and experimenting with new visual effects approaches to keep pushing the work forward.”

Before Framestore, Van Rensburg worked independently in Europe as a VFX Supervisor and Flame Artist and served as a video editor for UEFA and the European Football Associations. He was also Lead Online Editor and Flame Artist at Black Ginger in Cape Town, where his feature credits included Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle, 24 Hours to Live and The Last Face.
