PepsiCo Design wins Best of Show in Mobius Awards

A Can Has No Name,” created by PepsiCo Design & Innovation, New York City, for Mtn Dew and Game of Thrones superfans, won Best of Show/Grand Prix in the 2020 Mobius Awards competition.

Three packaging entrants competed for the honor. Other noms were Pearlfisher of New York City and Shenzhen Baixinglong Creative Packaging Co. Ltd., Shenzhen, China

Pepsico’s winning project provided a way for fans to learn the “Throne” kill list by purchasing a can and doing a promotional post on the question “What Would You Do for the Throne?” The project drew inspiration from key elements of the show and turned them into a tangible keepsake, using iconic fonts and temperature-sensitive thermochromatic inks. The advertiser was PepsiCo, Inc., New York.

Pearlfisher’s “Bowl & Basket” emphasized that ShopRite will be even more competitive with the introduction of its new private label food and beverage brand at budget-friendly prices. Advertiser was Wakefern, Keasbey, N.J.  Pearlfisher also received a First Place in Package for a NOgroni by Seedlip, Beaconsfield, U.K., label design. The agency received two Certificates, for General Mills, Minneapolis, “Cinnamon Toast Crunch” and “Osmo” for advertiser Tangible Play, Palo Alto, Calif.

Shenzen Baixinglong Creative Packaging Co. Ltd., conveyed the concept of spirituality through the use of the zodiac “Ox” in its “Year of the Ox Commemorative Wine” 2021 commemorative packaging for Niu Lan Shan, Beijing.  The entry addressed the theme that zodiac animals bear the people’s hope for an auspicious and wonderful life.

Shenzhen Baixinglong also received a First Place for work done for Taggou & Three Friends of Sui Han bottle and a Second Place Certificate for package design Vintage Puree 24 Solar Terms for Anhui Gujing Distillery Co. Ltd, Anhui, China. 

PEAK, Minato-ku,Tokyo, Japan, received a First Place and a Certificate for “Bamboo Sweets” Brand Identity design for client LIFULL, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo.

Unit Image, Paris, won First Place for “Far Cry 6 Launch Trailer” client Ubisoft Montreal, Canada, and a Certificate for “Legends of Runeterra” launch announcement for Riot Games, Los Angeles

Denomination, Ultimo, New South Wales, won First Place for “Tread Softly” package design for client Fourth Wave Wine, Kotara, and a Second Place Certificate for Package Design for Brown Estate, Napa Valley, Calif.

Hurrah.agency, Paris, won a First Place statuette for “The Roar Map” done for LION Cereals, France.
