Production on the Warner Bros. film Batgirl is already well underway in Glasgow, Scotland, and it seems that unofficial photos from the set are making their way to the internet, almost daily, and we are totally here for it.
Batgirl stars Leslie Grace as Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, the daughter of Commissioner Gordon (played by J.K. Simmons), who takes up the mantle in order to fight crime in Gotham City. The film is being directed by Bad Boys For Life director, Adil El Arbi, and Bilall Fallah, from a script by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey, The Flash).
Batgirl’s Batsuit (with goggles)
In one the latest set photos from Batgirl (via Batgirl Film News on Twitter), the character is seen wearing a pair of high-tech goggles with her batsuit.
This particular batsuit is clearly different from previous photos of Grace in the Batgirl suit as we see that this one is missing the yellow lining of the cape. Perhaps her costume evolves within the storyline of the film, or maybe Leslie Grace was teasing us with her Instagram post last week.

Batgirl’s New Wheels!

Ivory Aquino as Alysia Yeoh
In addition to Batgirl’s latest look, more set photos show that we’re about to be introduced to the DCEU’s first trans character: Alysia Yeoh.
Also posted by Batgirl Film News on Twitter, several set videos and photos show actor Ivory Aquino on set with Leslie Grace.
The captions on the images claim Aquino is playing Yeoh, and Leslie Grace confirmed the casting on her Instagram story:
The character of Alysia Yeoh made her comic book debut in 2011 as a roommate of Barbara Gordon. Yeoh went on to feature heavily in the Batgirl series, eventually marrying her girlfriend, Jo Muñoz in Batgirl #45.
Aquino is a trans actress who starred in ABC’s When We Rise as real-life transgender activist Cecilia Chung.
Jacob Scipio
While the proof is in the pictures, we actually have no idea who Jacob Scipio is playing in the film. There’s no mention of Batgirl on his IMDb and while Deadline confirmed he was joining the cast back in October 2021, Warner Bros. has managed to keep This Bad Boy for Life actor’s exact role a secret.
Brendan Fraser as Firefly
One of the very few tidbits of information Warner Bros. has actually confirmed is that the movie will see Barbara Gordon/Batgirl (Leslie Grace) clashing with the pyromaniac known as Firefly, played by The Mummy’s Brendan Fraser.
Once again, Batgirl Movie News was there and they documented the actor’s arrival on set in Glasgow.
Michael Keaton as “the real” Batman
After Warner Bros. Pictures accidently leaked the news when they released their official 2022 movie preview kit to the media, which featured an updated cast list and synopsis for many of their movies, including Batgirl, we all saw photos out of Glasgow with Keaton as Batman. The latest set photo of a mural of Batman was posted on twitter by Glasgow Live reporter Craig Williamsby.
