Warner Bros. and directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah probably didn’t anticipate how difficult it would be to keep Batgirl filming details hush-hush when they took over several city blocks in the Scottish city of Glasgow and dressed them to look like the gritty streets of Gotham City.
Fans, on the other hand, couldn’t be more thrilled to see possible spoilers on almost a daily basis. Since filming began, we have shared both the first look at Leslie Grace’s Batgirl costume, as well as the updated one, complete with high tech goggles, she is currently wearing in Glasgow. We also shared that in this universe Robin exists (or existed), as well as Black Canary and the Mad hatter.
Last week was no different, and we shared that Ivory Aquino is appearing as Alysia Yeoh, the DCEU’s first trans character and the moment when The Mummy and Encino Man star, Brendan Fraser joined the cast and crew in Glasgow.
In this week’s edition of “Batgirl spoilers from Glasgow,” we have photos and videos showing us Brendan Fraser as the villain Firefly, the possibility that Jacob Scipio’s character could be Tony Bressi, Batgirl appearing with blood on her face, Batgirl interrogating a suspect, Leslie Grace’s stunt doubles prepping, and confirmation that JK Simmons reprising his role as Commissioner James Gordon. Scroll down for the unofficial photos and videos!
Brendan Fraser as Firefly
Fraser didn’t waste any time and seemed to immediately get to work as the pyromaniac villain Firefly:

Jacob Scipio might be Tony Bressi
Tony Bressi is an infamous mid-level Gotham City mob boss, and he was an antagonist of Barbara’s in Batgirl: Year One. In the comic, Tony Bressi is introduced following Batgirl putting a beating on DC villain Killer Moth, who was attempting to kidnap Bruce Wayne. Killer Moth attempts to sell his services as a bodyguard to Tony Bressi, who laughs in his face because he was beaten by a girl. We have no way of knowing how Batgirl’s Tony Bressi will be portrayed.
Batgirl Appears Bloodied
In some really fantastic shots of Leslie Grace’s Batgirl suit, we can also see her face bloodied.
Batgirl “Interrogates” a Suspect
Of course, we have no context, nor do we know who she’s “interrogating”
This is more footage of our Batgirl interacting with a foe:
Leslie Grace’s Stunt Double Preparing for Action
Our superheroes (and supervillains) wouldn’t be near as super if it wasn’t for the hard work and dedication of their stunt doubles who make them appear to have extraordinary abilities.
JK Simmons as Commissioner James Gordon
We all assumed Simmons was reprising his role as Commissioner Gordon and now we know it’s official.
Directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah don’t seem to be too heartbroken over all of the photos and videos getting leaked from Glasgow as they interact with a mini-Batgirl.
Batgirl is directed by Bad Boys for Life’s Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi, with a script written by Christina Hodson, whose work includes Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and the upcoming The Flash movie.
The film stars JK Simmons reprising his role as Commissioner James Gordon, Michael Keaton reprising his role as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Brendan Fraser joining the cast as Firefly, and Jacob Scipio, Rebecca Front, Ivory Aquino, Corey Johnson, and Ethan Kai. Batgirl will be released exclusively on HBO Max later in 2022.
