David&Goliath named AOR for Black-owned start-up, Esusu

Esusu

David&Goliath (D&G) has announced a new partnership with Esusu, the leading fintech company specializing in rent reporting and data solutions to improve credit scores and bridge the racial wealth gap.

Esusu has chosen D&G as its Agency of Record (AOR) to develop the brand strategy and voice, aiming to bring the narrative of financial freedom to a broader audience, particularly those deemed “credit invisible.”

Esusu addresses the needs of 45 million Americans who are “credit invisible” due to their socioeconomic backgrounds and lack of credit history with the major credit bureaus. These individuals, largely from minority communities, struggle to establish credit identities. Esusu’s innovative model reports on-time rent payments to credit bureaus, helping renters build their credit scores and demonstrate financial responsibility without incurring additional debt. This approach not only benefits renters but also property owners and managers by incentivizing on-time payments and covering missed rents through a 0% rent stability program.

David Angelo, founder and creative chairman of D&G, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership: “We are honored to partner with Esusu, a company with grit and determination, whose core values resonate with our commitment to driving societal change. Financial inclusivity is a Goliath that needs to be addressed at a societal level, and we are excited to employ our strategic and creative expertise to propel Esusu’s vital message and services to new heights.”

Since its founding in 2018, Esusu has significantly impacted the financial landscape for renters, creating over $21.9 billion in new credit tradelines and reporting over $28 billion in rental payments. In 2024 alone, Esusu facilitated the creation of over 107,000 new credit scores for Americans. D&G’s role will be to enhance Esusu’s brand positioning and growth, amplifying their product offerings, which include credit-building opportunities, financial literacy content, and resources like rent relief funds.

Esusu co-founders and co-CEOs Wemimo Abbey and Samir Goel highlighted the significance of this partnership: “Our partnership with D&G marks a significant step for us in Esusu’s journey. Esusu was founded on the principle that where you come from, the color of your skin, and your financial identity should not determine where you end up in life. We’re eager to continue our work expanding financial access with the help of the team at D&G.”

The collaboration commenced with D&G’s “8 Weeks of Bravery” immersion process and will be followed by innovative strategy, brand, and marketing initiatives starting to roll out in Q2 of this year.
