Cory Berger joins Goodby as first Chief Growth Officer

Goodby Silverstein & Partners (GS&P) has announced the appointment of Cory Berger as its first-ever Chief Growth Officer, along with the title of Associate Partner.

In this new role, Berger will be responsible for driving growth across both of GS&P’s offices in San Francisco and New York City, contributing to the agency’s vision for the future. He will be based in New York and will report to Jeff Goodby, Co-founder and Co-chairman, as well as Leslie Barrett, President and Partner.

Goodby expressed the importance of the agency’s client partnerships and believes that Berger’s expertise will play a crucial role in shaping the agency’s trajectory. “More than ever, an agency is defined by the companies we work with,” he noted. “Cory knows this and will help shape us for years to come. From our initial conversation, it was clear he loves this business and knows that we are only as good as the opportunities in front of us.”

Berger joins GS&P from Grey, where he served as Global CMO and Chief Growth Officer for four years, leading growth initiatives for the global network. During his tenure at Grey, the agency achieved significant success, including its most prominent new business year in a decade with high-profile wins like MassMutual, Modelo, IHG Hotels, and more. As a result, Grey was named Ad Age’s Comeback Agency of the Year in 2022.

Before his time at Grey, Cory Berger was the Managing Director of Pereira O’Dell, where he established and led the agency’s New York office. Under his leadership, the New York office achieved six years of consecutive growth and delivered award-winning work for various partners. Cory was named to Ad Age’s prestigious 40 Under 40 list in 2016.

Berger’s admiration for GS&P made the opportunity to become the agency’s first-ever Chief Growth Officer irresistible to him. He appreciates not only the agency’s iconic brand work but also its ability to blend creativity with cutting-edge technology, which he believes aligns with what modern brands seek from their agency partners.

The appointment of Berger is one of the first major hiring decisions made by GS&P President and Partner, Leslie Barrett, who has been instrumental in the agency’s recognition on Ad Age’s A-List of top-ranking ad agencies for six consecutive years.
