In a celebration of creativity and innovation, the prestigious 2024 Gerety Awards announced their global shortlist, revealing the most outstanding agencies and production companies by country.
This year’s competition saw a fierce array of entries, with notable U.S. contenders like 72andSunny, alma DDB, BBDO New York, Biscuit Filmworks, Wieden + Kennedy, and Commonwealth//McCann leading the charge.
A Showcase of Creativity and Excellence
From the United States, several standout entries made the shortlist. 72andSunny’s campaign, “Chief Trash Officer,” starring Sesame Street’s Oscar the Grouch made the short list in strategy, integrated, copywriting and PR.
The agency also made the shortlist in multiple categories for its Anti-Choice ads for Wisp x Abortion Freedom Fund:
BBDO New York’s poignant campaign “Just Joking” for Sandy Hook Promise:
Commonwealth//McCann’s nostalgic “A Holiday To Remember” for Chevrolet:
And Partizan Entertainment’s thought-provoking “Decades of Confusion” for Loewe were among the highlighted works.
Weber Shandwick New York’s “Translators” for U.S. Bank and Dentsu Creative US’s “Always Open” for 7-Eleven also garnered well-deserved recognition.

Global Judging, Local Celebrations
Judging sessions for the Gerety Awards were held worldwide, bringing together a diverse panel of experts from regions including the UK, USA, Poland, Canada, France, AUNZ, East Asia, LATAM, Spain, Netherlands, Middle East, and Belgium. This global perspective ensured a rich and varied assessment of the entries, culminating in a total of 394 shortlisted campaigns from 35 countries.
Categories and Contenders
The most competitive categories this year were the Work for Good Cut, with 93 entries, and Craft, with 86 entries. Standout campaigns that received multiple shortlistings included “Rights against the Right” for Laut gegen Nazis by Jung von Matt AG, Hamburg, “Anti-Choice Ads” for Wisp x Abortion Freedom Fund by 72andSunny Los Angeles, “The Square Meter” for HORNBACH by HeimatTBWA\ Germany Berlin, and “A Holiday To Remember” for Chevrolet by Commonwealth//McCann Detroit.
Agency and Network Recognition
Jung von Matt AG, Hamburg emerged as the most shortlisted agency, with VML leading the pack as the most shortlisted network from 12 different countries. Omnicom claimed the title of the most shortlisted holding company, followed by IPG and WPP.
Anticipation Builds for Final Winners
The excitement doesn’t end with the shortlist. The Grand jury is set to decide the final winners, who will be unveiled on Tuesday, September 3. These will include Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Grand Prix awards, along with the coveted Network and Agency of the Year titles.
