“Let me tell you the story of the space viking, Thor Odinson…” A new trailer and poster for Marvel Studios’ Thor: Love and Thunder has dropped this morning now that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is nearing the end of its theatrical run and closing in on its Disney+ debut.

The new trailer reveals new details about the God of Thunder’s latest adventure—including a trek to Olympus where Zeus (Russell Crowe) reigns supreme.

The film finds Thor (Chris Hemsworth) on a journey unlike anything he’s ever faced: a search for self-discovery. But his retirement is interrupted by a galactic killer known as Gorr the God Butcher (Christian Bale), who seeks the extinction of the gods.

To combat the threat, Thor enlists the help of King Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Korg (Taika Waititi), and ex-girlfriend Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), who—to Thor’s surprise—inexplicably wields his magical hammer, Mjolnir, as the Mighty Thor.

Together, they embark upon a harrowing cosmic adventure to uncover the mystery of the God Butcher’s vengeance and stop him before it’s too late. Watch below:

REELated: Watch the first teaser for Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning

You see those guns on Natalie Portman? Naturally there is a new poster as well.

In addition to Chris Hemsworth as the titular God of Thunder, the cast will also feature Academy Award-winner Natalie Portman as Jane Foster/Mighty Thor, Tessa Thompson as King Valkyrie, Academy Award-winner Christian Bale as Gorr the God Butcher, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill/Star-Lord, Jaimie Alexander as Sif, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, 9x Academy Award-nominee Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon, Vin Diesel as Groot, Sean Gunn as Kraglin Obfonteri, Jeff Goldblum as Grandmaster, Taika Waititi as Korg, and Academy Award-winner Russell Crowe as Zeus.

The big surprise, although it had been rumored, is the return of Jamie Alexander as Lady Sif. She has been MIA since Thor: The Dark World.

Directed by Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok, Jojo Rabbit) and produced by Kevin Feige and Brad Winderbaum, Thor: Love and Thunder opens in theaters July 8, 2022.
