TBWA\Chiat\Day New York has announced the appointment of Dustin Tomes as its new Chief Creative Officer, effective October 10th. Tomes joins from Publicis Group’s Le Truc, where he was EVP and Executive Creative Director. He will report directly to TBWA\Chiat\Day NY’s CEO Emily Wilcox.

Tomes, a highly-awarded creative with a history of innovative brand work, will lead the agency’s creative department, overseeing major clients including Carnival Cruise Line, Wells Fargo, Hilton, Nissan, LG, Moderna, Travelers, and Optimum Nutrition. His role will be instrumental in driving the agency’s creative vision forward.

Wilcox commented, “Dustin embodies what Disruption® is at its core. He’s a leader who inspires creativity through both talent and kindness, and he shares our ambition to create work that honors the rich legacy of Chiat Day while ushering in a bold new era.”

Tomes’ work has been recognized by the One Show, D&AD, Cannes Lions, Webby Awards, and Clios, among others. Prior to his role at Le Truc, he worked at Saatchi & Saatchi, where he played a key role in building Goldfish into a billion-dollar brand and spearheading award-winning campaigns like Tide’s Gold Cannes Lions. He also made waves at Droga5, particularly with the viral Game of Thrones campaign, How Far Would You Go #ForTheThrone, named by The Wall Street Journal as the “biggest and boldest marketing tie-in ever orchestrated.”

On returning to TBWA\Chiat\Day, Tomes shared, “Coming back to TBWA\Chiat\Day New York is a full-circle moment. It’s an iconic agency that shaped my passion for this industry, and I’m excited to help create disruptive work for our clients with Emily and the team.”

Tomes’ extensive experience includes work at agencies such as Crispin Porter + Bogusky, Leo Burnett Chicago, and previously TBWA\Chiat\Day New York.
