Sabrina Carpenter says singing with Stevie Nicks was healing

Sabrina Carpenter

Sabrina Carpenter is having a surreal run of musical collaborations lately, but one moment in particular clearly hit her on a deeper emotional level.

Following her surprise performance with Stevie Nicks at the Met Gala earlier this month, Carpenter shared an emotional message on Instagram describing the experience as something profoundly meaningful.

“Singing together healed many things in me!” Carpenter wrote after joining the Fleetwood Mac icon onstage for performances of the band’s classic songs Landslide and Don’t Stop.

The unexpected duet quickly became one of the night’s standout moments, blending Carpenter’s current pop stardom with Nicks’ legendary catalog in a performance that felt both nostalgic and strangely generationally perfect.

Carpenter also thanked Anna Wintour, Vogue, and the Metropolitan Museum of Art for the invitation, while affectionately referring to Nicks as “a beautiful new friend.”

The collaboration continues a major stretch of high-profile musical pairings for Carpenter, who also recently teamed with Madonna during a surprise appearance at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

The two artists debuted their new collaboration Bring Your Love, which will appear on Madonna’s upcoming album, Confessions II, the long-awaited follow-up to 2005’s Confessions on a Dance Floor.

During the Coachella performance, Carpenter and Madonna also performed Vogue” and Like a Prayer together in coordinated outfits, instantly setting social media on fire and fueling anticipation for Madonna’s new dance-driven era.

After the single’s release, Carpenter encouraged fans to disconnect from their screens and embrace the music physically. “I hope you all enjoy it and take a break from phone and go out and dance!” she wrote online.

The upcoming album reunites Madonna with longtime producer Stuart Price, whose work helped define the sound and success of Confessions on a Dance Floor. Confessions II is expected to continue in that same euphoric electronic and dance-pop direction when it releases July 3.

For Carpenter, though, the Stevie Nicks performance appears to have landed differently. Fewer career milestones, more emotional moments.

And honestly, standing beside Stevie Nicks singing Landslide at the Met Gala sounds like the kind of thing that probably would heal at least a few things in anybody.
