Olay makes space for women in full Super Bowl spot

“Is there enough space in space for women? Who wrote that?” asks Katie Couric in Olay‘s Super Bowl spot which is inspired by the first all-female space walk last year. The ad stars Lilly Singh and Busy Philipps, who take a trip into space with retired astronaut Nicole Stott. Their space mission is overseen by Mission Controller Taraji P. Henson and shared over the airwaves by Couric.

The ad from Olay’s female-owned New York AOR, Badger & Winters, puts this crew of women on the quest to #MakeSpaceForWomen, donating to a worthy cause of getting more girls into STEM programs through Girls Who Code.

“It’s no secret that Super Bowl ads are still predominantly male-centric.  We want to lead the charge in making space for women during the Big Game,” P&G spokeswoman Kate DiCarlo said in a statement.

Partnering with Girls Who Code and using the hashtag #MakeSpaceForWomen, Olay has stated on their website that the brand will donate $1 (up to $500,000) to Girls Who Code, an organization that teaches girls how to solve problems, build community and even make robots dance.
