Nothing can hold a candle to this new Evil Dead Burn clip

Evil Dead Burn

A gruesome new clip from Evil Dead Burn has arrived, and it suggests the latest chapter in the long-running horror franchise isn’t pulling any punches.

The newly released footage features a young woman possessed by a Deadite who calmly drinks melted candle wax in a sequence that’s equal parts disturbing and unforgettable. The scene quickly escalates from unsettling to terrifying, offering fans a taste of the body horror that has become a hallmark of the franchise.

The clip concludes with the possessed woman being locked away in a basement, only for a far more menacing Deadite to appear outside the house, accompanied by a demonic dog, setting the stage for the chaos to come. Watch below:

According to the film’s official synopsis, Evil Dead Burn follows a grieving widow who seeks comfort with her in-laws at their remote family home. When members of the family begin transforming into Deadites one by one, the gathering becomes a “family reunion from hell,” forcing her to confront supernatural horrors while discovering that the vows she made in life may still carry power in death.

The film stars Souheila Yacoub, Tandi Wright, Hunter Doohan, Luciane Buchanan, Errol Shand and Maude Davey. The movie is directed by Sébastien Vaniček, who co-wrote the screenplay with Florent Bernard. Franchise creator Sam Raimi produces alongside Rob Tapert, with the late Bruce Campbell serving as an executive producer.

Raimi launched the franchise with 1981’s The Evil Dead, followed by Evil Dead II and Army of Darkness. More recent entries include Evil Dead and Evil Dead Rise, both of which successfully reinvented the series for new audiences.

Evil Dead Burn arrives in theaters on July 10, with another standalone entry, Evil Dead Wrath, already slated for release in 2028.
