Joe Biden tests negative for coronavirus

Late last night. impeached President Donald Trump revealed he and First Lady Melania Trump are experiencing “mild symptoms” and tested positive for the coronavirus, White House chief of staff Mark Meadows told reporters Friday. Bloomberg was first to break the news.

Trump tweeted last night the results of his test after White House advisor Hope Hicks tested positive. “Tonight, @Flotus and I tested positive for COVID-19. We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately We will get through this TOGETHER!”

Former Vice-President and Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s campaign announced that he and his wife, Jill Biden, have both tested negative for the coronavirus. He tweeted results earlier today.

With 31 days left until the election, the president’s infection has upended the campaign. A fundraiser in Washington and a rally in Florida were scrapped, and Trump plans to remain in self-isolation at the White House.

Democratic nominee Joe Biden wished Trump and his wife a “swift recovery” in a morning tweet. He is scheduled to campaign in Michigan on Friday. Vice President Mike Pence and his wife have tested negative, according to a spokesman.

The Trump campaign said Friday that would be postponing or making the announced events involving Trump and has family in the wake of the news that Trump tested positive.

Biden leads Trump by eight percentage points nationally, 51 percent to 43 percent, according to a Washington Post average of polls. Biden’s margin is the same in Pennsylvania and smaller in other key states: seven points in Wisconsin and Michigan, five in Arizona, and one in Florida.
