When Captain Marvel flew into theaters with her first solo outing in 2019, she was met with a $1 billion gross. Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers later appeared in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. However, her appearances amounted to little more than elongated cameos.

That’s about to change.

This morning, the first trailer for Marvel Studios’ The Marvels debuted today on ABC’s Good Morning America. In the film, Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. But unintended consequences see Carol shouldering the burden of a destabilized universe.

When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan Kamala Khan, aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece, now S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau.

Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as The Marvels. Watch the trailer below:

The film looks like it will be an intergalactic blast with lots of humor. With the addition of Kamala Khan The Marvels has the vibe of a family film.

The film stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Samuel L. Jackson, Zawe Ashton, and Park Seo-joon. Nia DaCosta (Candyman) directs, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Mary Livanos, and Matthew Jenkins serve as executive producers. The screenplay is by Megan McDonnell, DaCosta, Elissa Karasik, and Zeb Wells.

Marvel Studios’ The Marvels opens in U.S. theaters on Friday, November 10.
