Institute expands roster with five visionary photographers

Institute

Multiplatform production powerhouse Institute has announced the signing of five groundbreaking visual artists to its growing roster: Derrick Ofosu Boateng, Andy Dixon, Robert LeBlanc, Eimear Lynch, and Anastasia Samoylova. Known for its commitment to storytelling across disciplines, Institute continues to cultivate boundary-pushing talent, joining forces with an impressive lineup that includes Lauren Greenfield, Ray Neutron, Blaise Cepis, and Thandiwe Muriu.

“These incredible and unique talents represent the evolution of Institute and demonstrate how our artists are redefining storytelling,” said Matt Shonfeld, Managing Director and Co-Founder of Institute Artist. “We celebrate auteur-driven storytellers and appreciate how seamlessly our talent navigates creativity in commercials, still photography, motion, design, fine art, and film. We’re thrilled to have them on our roster and look forward to exciting projects and collaborations ahead.”

Derrick Ofosu Boateng – Champion of Hueism

Hailing from Ghana, Derrick Ofosu Boateng is a fine art photographer and the founder of Hueism, an artistic movement celebrating African culture through vibrant color and visual storytelling. His images—deeply inspired by African proverbs and traditions—present a kaleidoscopic, joyful perspective of life on the continent.

Notably, Boateng creates all his work entirely on an iPhone, proving that technology and vision can redefine artistic boundaries. His photography challenges outdated perceptions of Africa, offering a striking, contemporary perspective that is at once poetic, profound, and rich in meaning.

Andy Dixon – Merging Classical and Contemporary Aesthetics

Canadian artist Andy Dixon is best known for his bold, luxurious interpretations of classical themes, blending Renaissance and Baroque motifs with modern-day iconography. With a background in punk and electronic music, Dixon brings an irreverent yet intellectual approach to fine art, often exploring the psychology of value, wealth, and consumerism.

His collaborations, including a standout project with Versace, highlight his ability to merge high art with pop culture, resulting in visually arresting and thought-provoking compositions.

Robert LeBlanc – Documenting the Margins of Society

A passenger on a lowrider hangs out the window as the driver lifts the lowrider onto three wheels in front of a basketball hoop and a large cornfield in Ohio.

Los Angeles-based photographer Robert LeBlanc captures the lives of outsiders, subcultures, and overlooked communities, creating evocative and immersive documentary photography. From hotshot firefighters and hurricane survivors to Holiness snake handlers in Appalachia, LeBlanc’s work is a testament to raw, unfiltered storytelling.

His unwavering commitment to building trust with his subjects has allowed him to document spaces that rarely receive public attention, resulting in projects like his acclaimed book, Unlawful Conduct. His work blends gritty realism with a cinematic eye, offering rare glimpses into the human experience in extreme and often untold settings.

Eimear Lynch – A Lens on Girlhood and Youth Culture

Teenagers at a teen disco. Mullingar, Ireland. 2023.

Irish photographer Eimear Lynch, now based in Brighton, England, specializes in capturing the complexities of girlhood and contemporary youth culture. Her work, a mix of documentary, fashion, and music photography, explores themes of beauty, consumerism, and identity. In 2024, she published Girls’ Night, a celebrated photobook that garnered attention from major outlets like The Guardian and The Independent.

Her collaborations with brands like Miu Miu and Simone Rocha, alongside her focus on authentic female storytelling, have positioned her as an emerging powerhouse in contemporary visual culture.

Anastasia Samoylova – Interrogating Landscapes and Urban Identity

Miami-based artist Anastasia Samoylova operates at the intersection of observational photography and studio-based experimentation. Her work, currently on display at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, explores Florida’s layered identity—both as a cultural fantasy and a site of environmental vulnerability. Her debut monograph, FloodZone, examined the impact of climate change on coastal communities, while her ongoing Image Cities project extends her lens to global urban landscapes. Her ability to turn geography into a conceptual narrative makes her a unique force in contemporary photography.

With these five extraordinary additions, Institute continues to push the boundaries of photography and storytelling, creating space for artists who thrive across multiple mediums.

Reel 360 News wishes Derrick, Andy, Robert, Eimear, and Anastasia the best of luck at Institute.
