Holy Cowl! Michael Keaton pops up in new Flash teaser

Flash
(Peek-a-Bat)

If you can believe this, The Flash movie has been in the works for almost four years. But here we are…. finally. During DC FanDome, star Ezra Miller introduced a teaser from the upcoming 2022 film.

The Flash has been in production for quite a while now with various tidbits of teases from the set offering the public an idea of what to expect from the project. So while Warner Bros. and DC Films have been hush-hush about the storyline of the movie, fans have been speculating about the movie’s narrative. The Geek Squad at Reel 360 believes the film is loosely based on the comic book event Flashpoint.

In that comic book series and animated film, Barry travels back in time to stop his mother from behind murdered by The Reverse Flash and in turn messes up multiple timelines. And that’s what we see in the teaser. Barry travels back in time to prevent the murder, but when he changes everything he opens up the multiverse (which has been explored at length in the CW’s Arrowverse). Barry is now trapped in a new universe where Gotham City protected by, gulp, Michael Keaton’s Batman, now 30 years older. Watch the teaser below:

We can’t lie. Some of us said, “Oh Sh*t” at that final moment.

Along with Keaton, who plays the caped crusader for the first time since 1992, the film will also feature Ben Batfleck’s version of Batman, alongside Ron Livingston as Barry’s father, Sasha Calle as Lara Lane Kent, daughter of Clark Kent and Lois Lane who serves as the Supergirl of her era.

Directed by Andy Muschietti (IT and IT: Chapter 2) and written by Christina Hodson (Birds of Prey), The Flash runs scheduled for Nov. 4, 2022.
