DC FanDome is only hours away, but we now have something to whet fanboys’ and fangirls’ appetites — Black Adam star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has released a sneak peek of him in the antihero’s costume and new footage.
A teaser (possibly even a full trailer) is expected today at the highly anticipated DC online event. Johnson shared a video featuring a couple of brief shots from the film, as we see his powerful antihero about to fly. The teaser also includes interview snippets with Johnson and costar Pierce Brosnan (Dr. Fate). Look below:
REELated: Here are all the deets for DC FanDome
The details and texture of Johnson’s Black Adam suit are reminiscent of Shazam! (with less padding) and Man of Steel. Also missing from Johnson are Black Adam’s pointy ears and widow’s peak. Maybe the ears will happen in Post. As for the hair, we assume there won’t be any since Johnson’s dome is a trademark.
Hopefully we see a glimpse of Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher and Cyclone when DC FanDome gets underway later today.
Johnson and Pierce Brosnan join Sarah Shahi as Adrianna Tomaz, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone. Marwan Kenzari and James Cusati-Moyer have also been cast in supporting roles.
Jungle Cruise director Jaume Collet-Serra is set to helm Black Adam, which has Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia of Seven Bucks Productions on board as producers along with Beau Flynn of FlynnPictureCo. Rory Haines and Sohrab Noshirvani penned the screenplay, which is based off an early story draft from Adam Sztykiel.
