FOX unveiled its 2025–26 primetime slate at its annual upfront presentation, signaling a confident lean into unscripted formats, event programming, and reinventions of proven IP — all while claiming its place as the #1 network in Adults 18-49.
With six new series on deck — including three unscripted competitions, a reinvented Fear Factor, and a celebrity-stacked return of The Weakest Link — FOX Entertainment CEO Rob Wade emphasized a schedule “filled with irreverence, fun, and much-needed laughter.”
The Return of Reality Heavyweights
FOX is clearly doubling down on reality and game show formats that are audience magnets and brand recognizable:
- Fear Factor: The Next Chapter: A darker, more strategic reboot of the iconic franchise. Contestants live together in a remote setting, facing brutal stunts and psychological warfare.
- 99 to Beat: Hosted by Ken Jeong and Erin Andrews, this elimination-style game show challenges 100 contestants in absurd, high-energy rounds where the only rule is: don’t come in last.
- Celebrity Weakest Link: With Jane Lynch at the helm, this all-star edition reintroduces the fast-paced trivia showdown to broadcast audiences for the first time on FOX.
- Next Level Baker: Gordon Ramsay’s culinary empire expands with this four-hour holiday event spin-off of Next Level Chef.
These join returning unscripted juggernauts like The Masked Singer, LEGO Masters, Hell’s Kitchen, The Floor, Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, and more.
Scripted Slate Anchored by Emotion, IP, and Genre
While reality steals the spotlight, FOX isn’t abandoning scripted. The new lineup includes:
- Memory of a Killer – A high-concept crime thriller inspired by the Belgian hit De Zaak Alzheimer, starring a hitman battling early-onset Alzheimer’s while maintaining a double life.
- The Faithful – An ambitious six-part event series airing next Easter/Passover, telling the dramatic, untold stories of five legendary matriarchs from the Old Testament.
Returning scripted hits include Doc, Murder in a Small Town, Animal Control, and Going Dutch.
Animation Domination Gets Even Bigger
FOX’s “Animation Domination” block continues to dominate the adult animation space, with renewals for:
- The Simpsons (Season 37)
- Family Guy (Season 24)
- Bob’s Burgers (Season 16)
- Krapopolis, Grimsburg, and Universal Basic Guys
And for the first time since 2014, Seth MacFarlane’s American Dad! returns to FOX primetime in 2026 with all-new episodes.
“Building on our winning position in both key demos and co-viewing this season, FOX delivers a 2025-26 schedule that’s filled with irreverence, fun and much-needed laughter,” said FOX Entertainment CEO Rob Wade. “Next year more than ever, we’re bringing that promise to life with a terrific slate to delight our audiences across linear, Hulu and beyond.”
With over two dozen returning series and a crop of new unscripted shows that blend competition, spectacle, and cultural nostalgia, FOX is embracing what it does best: unfiltered entertainment with mass appeal.
While the industry continues to shift toward streaming and premium cable dramas, FOX is carving out a space where big personalities, fan-favorite formats, and high-concept genre storytelling thrive — across linear and digital platforms like Hulu.
As Wade summed it up: “We’re delivering what audiences crave: bold, character-driven stories, shared viewing experiences, and shows that are just plain fun.”
