Edelman has announced the appointment of two high-profile political figures to its global Public Affairs consultancy, EGA. Former South Carolina Governor and U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley, will join as Vice Chair, while former U.S. Senator and Ambassador to China, Max Baucus, will serve as Senior Advisor.
Highlighting the strategic importance of these appointments, Edelman CEO Richard Edelman stated, “Politics has become a critical consideration for clients in brand marketing, employee engagement, and reputation management.”
He praised Haley’s success in attracting foreign investment to South Carolina and her global leadership as UN Ambassador while acknowledging Baucus’ extensive agriculture, trade, and tech expertise from his time as U.S. Ambassador to China and U.S. Senator.
Haley expressed her excitement about the role, noting the growing complexity in business and politics. “Brands need to anticipate what’s coming next,” she said, emphasizing the importance of clear communication for industry leaders. Baucus also shared his enthusiasm, highlighting Edelman’s trusted legacy and his eagerness to apply his policy and international affairs knowledge to help clients succeed.
Both Haley and Baucus will officially begin their roles in early September.
