“Twin-Kill, Twin-Kill, little Bat…” And so Batwoman begins. With a new Bat. Last month, we got our first official look at Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder in her redesigned Bat-suit and her Batmobile. Now, The CW has (finally) released a full teaser for the second season of Batwoman in the form of a 60-second promo.
As reported here, Ruby Rose hung up her suit after only one season, and now her character Kate Kane is MIA. Gotham needs a new hero and stepping into the cape and cowl is Leslie’s Wilder. With her own alterations. Watch below:

Leslie seems to feel very comfortable as the new Scarlett Crusader. The footage also confirms that at least part of the season will focus on the search for Kane, while hinting that Ryan may also have differing views than Luke Fox when it comes to crime fighting.
For the first two episodes, Wilder will sport Kate’s costume, but come episode 3, she will bring in her own take. We get a glimpse at the end of the trailer.
While this Batwoman is not comic book canon, she would not be the first character to be born somewhere else. Harley Quinn and Terry McGinnis (Batman Beyond) come to mind. Batwoman returns on January 17.
Batwoman season 2 will also see the return of Rachel Skarsten (Elizabeth Kane/Alice), Camrus Johnson (Luke Fox), Nicole Kang (Mary Hamilton), Meagan Tandy (Sophie Moore), Christina Wolfe (Julia Pennyworth), and Dougray Scott (Jacob Kane). Shivaani Ghai was recently added to the cast as Safiyah Sohail.
