Fela signs William Ukoh to live action and photography rosters

William Ukoh

Culture-defining production company Fela has announced the signing of photographer and director William Ukoh to its live action and stills rosters for commercial representation.

Ukoh’s work is shaped by his Nigerian heritage and expressed through a striking visual language defined by rich color, layered texture, and rhythmic movement. A multidisciplinary artist working across photography, film, installation, and design, he brings a culturally grounded yet globally resonant perspective to both commercial and editorial storytelling.

Part storyteller, part cultural historian, and unapologetic provocateur, Ukoh uses a contemporary cinematic lens to challenge audiences to reexamine familiar ideas. His work has drawn the attention of major global brands, including Adidas, Canada Goose, Holt Renfrew, Eadem, and Puma, as well as leading publications such as Vogue and GQ.

Born in Nigeria, Ukoh moved to Toronto at 17 to attend college, initially studying computer science before discovering his passion for visual storytelling. He went on to graduate from Toronto Metropolitan University’s film school, where his path into photography and branded film content began to take shape.

Rather than limiting himself to a single medium, Ukoh fluidly moves between formats to express his ideas. His portfolio spans physical installations, curated photography, commercial campaigns, and experimental films, all unified by a bold aesthetic that reflects his cultural roots while pushing at the edges of art and commerce.

“William brings a perspective that feels culturally specific and globally relevant, which is something we’re always looking for in the artists we represent,” said Taj Critchlow, Founder of Fela. “What’s exciting is how that point of view extends beyond photography and directing into installation and furniture design, and how consistently he applies his ideas across different formats. That versatility makes him a natural fit for the kind of work we’re building.”

“I immediately felt a sense of belonging at Fela,” Ukoh said. “Beyond the great work they do, they provide a real sense of community and a strong network of support. I’m looking forward to growing our relationship through collaborations with clients and making standout work together.”

Reel 360 News congratulates William on this exciting next chapter and to Fela for continuing to build a roster that champions distinctive voices and forward-thinking creativity.
