‘Fear the Walking Dead’ sets premiere during Comic-Con

(Series premiere is October 11)

For the first few years of its 6-season life, Fear the Walking Dead lived in the shadows of the one-time behemoth it spun off from, The Walking Dead. Now with TWD on a ratings decline, Fear has actually found its own footing, as a Western, and in many ways has become better than the OG.

The Fear the Walking Dead panel was the first of three WD streaming panels during the pandemic-induced San Diego Comic-Con@Home. AMC announced that Fear will air its Season 6 premiere October 11.

AMC also dropped the first trailer for the new season during the panel. The teaser references last season’s climax which left Morgan (Lennie James) shot and bleeding by new villain Virginia (Colby Minifie), walkers approaching their new meal and a message he recorded to the group. Watch below:

And here is a fun highlight from the panel:

Normally, FTWD would have aired in the spring, but the coronavirus pandemic shut production down on the zombie series the same way it affected most other shows.

The annual convention for all things superhero and genre announced plans in June for this summer’s Comic-Con@Home. The event is taking place July 22-26, 2020. And it’s free.
