Director Stefan Pflug signs with Cultivate.Media

Stefan Pflug

Stefan Pflug, the award-winning Danish director known for his signature style of “cinematic documentarism,” has officially signed with Cultivate.Media for exclusive U.S. spot representation.

Pflug, whose work is characterized by emotionally compelling storytelling and a grounded yet visually striking aesthetic, joins the team under the leadership of Managing Director/Executive Producer Mark Thomas and Executive Producer Stuart Wilson.

Pflug has built a strong international portfolio, with campaigns for major brands like Adidas, Puma, Pfizer, and AXA. His work strikes a delicate balance between authenticity and visual beauty, ensuring that characters remain central to the emotional core of the story. Reflecting on his filmmaking approach, Pflug explains: “Aesthetics is not the enemy of authenticity. We just have to ensure that our characters are always stronger than the beauty of a shot, so that composition, light, and design don’t hinder the emotion we are aiming to portray.”

Mark Thomas, speaking about the decision to bring Pflug on board, said, “When I first screened Stefan’s work, I came away with the impression that his films can give you a warm smile or even cause you to shed a tear, but they always compel you to think.” Pflug’s “cinematic documentarism” style, which emerged while working with Matthias Wissmann at Wanda Germany (now RePresent), blends professional sports, fashion, and raw human emotion—elevating his craft to new heights

For Pflug, this U.S. partnership comes at an opportune moment in his career, as he seeks to expand his presence in the American market. “I feel that my reel is now in a place where the timing is right for an expansion in the U.S. market,” Pflug stated. His notable recent work includes a shoot featuring a 32-player ensemble cast, highlighting his ability to capture genuine emotional moments even in highly constructed settings.

Pflug’s journey from producing sports content to directing commercials has been a natural progression, and his collaboration with Cultivate.Media marks an exciting new chapter. With Frenzy Paris, Le Berg Berlin, Holy Ravioli, and Thirsty Film already representing him across Europe, his first foray into U.S. representation promises to broaden his influence in the commercial and content production landscape.

Reel 360 News wishes Stefan the best of luck.
