Coolest “Dicks” in New York are back in new ‘Shaft’ trailer

The next chapter in the Shaft franchise is here and it features three generations of the iconic character created in the 1970s by Richard Roundtree.

Can ya dig it?

The trailer for the New Line Cinema action comedy re-introduces us to John II (Samuel L. Jackson), who was in the movie from 2000. And man, Samuel has a ton of films in 2019 with Glass, the upcoming Captain Marvel, maybe Avengers: End Game and Spider-man: Far From Home.

We are also introduced to his son John Shaft Jr. (Jessie T. Usher) who is nothing like daddy. Then there is Grandpa John (Richard Roundtree).

The trailer showcases the comedic talents of Kenya Barris (Black-ish) and Alex Barnow (Family Guy), as we follow Junior investigating his friend’s death in Heroin-infested Harlem. Watch below and prepare to get your head bobbin’ to the classic theme song updated:
