Sometimes dead IS better: new ‘Pet Sematary’ trailer

Pet-Sematary

Paramount has released the second official trailer for the new Stephen King adaptation of Pet Sematary and it should really be watched in a well-lit place.

With others.

Pet Sematary is directed by Kevin Kolsch and Dennis Widmyer and is based on the horror novel by Stephen King. It follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife and their two young children to rural Maine, discovers a burial ground near their home. He then turns to his neighbor (John Lithgow) which sets of a chain reaction of horrible events. Watch below:

See?

In a major twist to the source material, sure to fire up King fans and purists, the trailer shows that it won’t be young Gage who’s resurrected in the ancient burial ground of the title, but Ellie, his big sister!

It was just announced yesterday in The Wrap, that South by SXSW will screen the horror film on closing night.

Will King purists accept this change to the original story (it is fairly major) or not

It remains to be seen how King purists react to this pretty major change to the original story. Where is Fred Gwynne when you need him? Until then, enjoy the spanking new scary poster as well.
