Chris Beresford-Hill returns to BBDO as CCO

Beresford-Hill

Chris Beresford-Hill, formerly the President of North American Advertising at Ogilvy, is set to make a notable return to Omnicom’s BBDO, where he will assume the role of Chief Creative Officer for the Americas. The move, reported by AdAge, comes after Beresford-Hill spent two years at Ogilvy.

Beresford-Hill, known for his previous executive roles at BBDO and TBWA\Chiat\Day New York, brings a wealth of experience to his new position. His return to BBDO is scheduled for early 2024 and marks a reunion with Nancy Reyes, recently appointed as BBDO’s CEO of the Americas. Beresford-Hill and Reyes had previously collaborated at TBWA and earlier in their careers at Omnicom’s Goodby, Silverstein & Partners.

David Lubars, Chief Creative Officer at BBDO Worldwide, expressed enthusiasm about Beresford-Hill’s return, stating, “Chris coming home is particularly rewarding and personal for me. From the outset, I had him pegged as an important part of BBDO’s future.”

Beresford-Hill’s history at BBDO includes working on high-profile accounts such as Foot Locker, Twix, and HBO. His return is expected to contribute to BBDO’s bright future, reuniting with Reyes under the BBDO banner.

The Chief Creative Officer Americas role, currently held by Luiz Sanches, will transition to Beresford-Hill, while Sanches remains Chairman of Almap BBDO and takes on responsibilities for key multinational clients within BBDO.

Ogilvy, where Beresford-Hill served as President of North American Advertising, announced his departure in an internal memo signed by Devika Bulchandani, the agency’s global CEO, and Liz Taylor, global Chief Creative Officer. The memo emphasizes the importance of supporting career growth, even if it means individuals parting ways with the company. Ogilvy is actively seeking a successor for Beresford-Hill’s role.

Beresford-Hill expressed gratitude for his time at Ogilvy, stating, “I have nothing but appreciation for the incredible people at Ogilvy who have taught me so much.” His return to BBDO is anticipated to bring a fresh perspective to the agency as it looks ahead to the opportunities of 2024.

Reel 360 News wishes Chris the best of luck at BBDO.
