By the Power of Grayskull, Masters of the Universe trailer is here

Masters of the Universe

Clear your cubicle. Lift your sword. Eternia is calling. Masters of the Universe has officially dropped its long-awaited trailer, and yes, it opens with He-Man stuck in corporate America. On Wednesday, Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel Studios unveiled the first full look at the live-action reboot, which charges into theaters June 5, 2026.

Directed by Travis Knight, the film takes a surprisingly modern swing at the mythology. After being separated from Eternia for 15 years, Prince Adam, played by Nicholas Galitzine, is introduced as Adam Glenn, a bored office worker quietly rotting in a corporate cubicle. His desk placard lists his pronouns as “He/Him,” a clever wink to modern identity politics and, you know, He-Man.

Then the Sword of Power reenters the chat.

Once the sword finds its way back to Adam, the trailer pivots hard from beige office despair to full-blown fantasy spectacle. Adam is pulled back to Eternia, where he discovers his home world in ruins under the tyrannical rule of Jared Leto’s Skeletor. From there, destiny kicks in.

To save Eternia and his family, Adam reunites with his closest allies, Camila Mendes as Teela and Idris Elba as Duncan, aka Man-At-Arms, and finally embraces his true identity as He-Man, the most powerful man in the universe.

And yes, Battle Cat steals the show. Watch all of the power below:

The trailer confirms what fans were hoping for: Cringer is very much here. The giant green armored tiger, Prince Adam’s formerly anxious house cat, is rendered with serious presence and affection. If there’s a breakout star, it’s the battle-ready feline with abandonment issues.

The teaser closes with a face-off between He-Man and Skeletor that leans heavily into CGI spectacle. While the scale is undeniable, some moments feel more digital than practical, a choice that may spark debate among longtime fans.

Jared Leto stars as ‘Skeletor’ in MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE.

The cast also includes Alison Brie, Morena Baccarin, James Purefoy, Charlotte Riley, Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson, and Kristin Wiig, who voices Roboto.

The screenplay comes from a small army of writers, including Chris Butler, Aaron Nee, Adam Nee, and Dave Callaham, with story contributions from Alex Litvak and Michael Finch. Producers include Todd Black, Jason Blumenthal, Robbie Brenner, Steve Tisch, and DeVon Franklin.

The verdict so far? This is Masters of the Universe filtered through modern culture, self-aware humor, and blockbuster ambition. Whether you grew up yelling “I have the power!” or are meeting He-Man for the first time, this reboot is clearly swinging for a new generation while honoring the mythology that made Eternia iconic.

Corporate America never stood a chance.
