Biscuit Filmworks has added director Phoebe Arnstein to its commercial roster, bringing aboard a filmmaker known for emotionally grounded storytelling and a visually rich style that blends narrative, documentary, and mixed-media techniques.
Based between London and Los Angeles, Biscuit said Arnstein’s work stood out for its ability to feel both deeply personal and universally relatable, pairing sophisticated visual craft with strong emotional storytelling.
Arnstein’s commercial portfolio includes campaigns for British Airways, Huel, Burger King, and De Beers, alongside standout work such as the EE holiday campaign “The Christmas Double,” which explored the chaos of navigating multiple family gatherings during the holidays.
Her filmmaking style often incorporates still photography she personally captures and integrates into moving imagery, creating layered visual textures that heighten emotional impact rather than simply serving as a stylistic flourish.
Arnstein also wrote and directed the narrative short If You’re Happy starring Erin Doherty, known for roles in The Crown and Adolescence. The meditative short is currently streaming on Disney+.
Before transitioning into directing, Arnstein began her career in the camera department working across feature films and television dramas, an experience she says shaped her relationship to character and performance.
“Phoebe is such an exciting addition to our roster, we are thrilled to be part of her future,” said Biscuit Filmworks founding partner Shawn Lacy.
Biscuit Filmworks UK Managing Director Rupert Reynolds-MacLean emphasized Arnstein’s ability to create emotional connection within short-form storytelling. “Phoebe is obviously an incredibly talented visual filmmaker, but what really drew me to her work was her narrative storytelling prowess,” he said. “The overriding connective tissue between all of Phoebe’s work is that the audience is left feeling an emotional connection to the story she is telling.”
Reynolds-MacLean added, “Right now, brands need directors with that special ability more than ever, and I am excited about what we will be able to achieve together.”
Arnstein described joining Biscuit as finding a creative home aligned with her own instincts around craft and storytelling. “Joining Biscuit feels like I’ve landed somewhere very special,” she said. “Their exceptional instinct for craft and storytelling resonated with me immediately as a director, and I’m very excited to be here.”
Arnstein’s work has earned recognition from Ciclope, British Arrows, Creative Circle, Kinsale Sharks, and the Young Directors Awards. It has screened in competition at multiple BAFTA- and Academy Award-qualifying festivals worldwide.
Biscuit will represent Arnstein globally, excluding Germany, where she continues to be represented by Zauberberg.
Reel 360 News wishes Phoebe all the best at Biscuit.
