In a galaxy brimming with factions and fandoms, finding your Star Wars crew just got a whole lot easier thanks to Apple’s latest iPhone commercial, debuting just in time for Star Wars Day on May 4th.

The ad, made in-house and directed by Kim Gehrig, follows one Mandalorian, portrayed by real-life fan Owen Jardiniano, as he embarks on a mission to rendezvous with his fellow Mandalorian clan at a local convention. Utilizing the iPhone 15’s Precision Finding feature for Find My Friends, our intrepid Mandalorian navigates the convention with ease, ensuring no bounty is left behind.

Packed with 172 fans as part of the production, the ad is a treasure trove of Star Wars Easter eggs, from subtle nods like A New Hope street sign to clever quips such as our Mandalorian grabbing a boba tea along the way (yes, that’s Boba as in Boba Fett!). Watch below:

But if a gathering of Mandalorians on your iPhone screen isn’t enough excitement, fear not! Star Wars: The Mandalorian & Grogu movie is set to hit theaters on May 22, 2026. This feature-length spinoff of The Mandalorian series promises to bring fan-favorite characters Din Djarin (The Mandalorian) and his young ward Grogu to the big screen in an all-new adventure.

While plot details remain under wraps, Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy and The Mandalorian co-creator Jon Favreau assure fans that this cinematic journey will be one for the ages.

But before we set our sights on the future, there’s plenty of Star Wars content to enjoy in the present. Star Wars: Skeleton Crew, slated to arrive on Disney+ later this holiday season, offers a fresh perspective on the galaxy far, far away.

Starring Jude Law and Kerry Condon, this series dives into the lives of a young generation of characters, promising intrigue, adventure, and perhaps a touch of nostalgia reminiscent of the beloved Goonies, but with a Star Wars twist.

So whether you’re tracking down friends with your iPhone or counting down the days until The Mandalorian & Grogu grace the silver screen, May the 4th be with you as we continue to explore the ever-expanding universe of Star Wars.
