Apple TV is betting big on Anya Taylor-Joy, unveiling the official trailer for its new limited series Lucky while rolling out the red carpet at the Directors Guild of America in Los Angeles ahead of the show’s global premiere.
Taylor-Joy stars in and executive produces the pulse-pounding thriller, which debuts July 15 with its first two episodes, followed by new installments every Wednesday through Aug. 19. The series boasts an impressive ensemble cast including Annette Bening, Timothy Olyphant, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, Drew Starkey, Clifton Collins Jr. and William Fichtner.
Monday night’s premiere brought together Taylor-Joy alongside executive producer Reese Witherspoon, cast members Bening, Ellis-Taylor, Starkey, Collins Jr. and Fichtner, as well as creator and co-showrunner Jonathan Tropper, co-showrunner Cassie Pappas, executive producer Lauren Neustadter, director Jonathan van Tulleken and author Marissa Stapley, whose bestselling novel inspired the series. Based on Stapley’s New York Times bestseller and Reese’s Book Club selection, Lucky follows a seasoned con artist whose life spirals out of control after a multimillion-dollar heist goes horribly wrong.
