For the second week in a row, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has maintained its position in the top spot at the box office, despite the film’s dramatic 70% drop in its second weekend.

Quantumania earned $104 million for its opening weekend, but this weekend earned just $32.2 million. To compare, the original Ant-Man dropped 56% from its opening weekend from $57 million to $24.9 million, while Ant-Man and the Wasp dropped 62% in its week two from .$76 million to $29 million.

The real winner this weekend was Universal’s Cocaine Bear, which finished #2 with an astonishing gross of $23.1 million. The movie was inspired by a 1985 true story of drug runners in a plane crash, which led to a cache of cocaine being scattered in the wilderness and eventually ingested by a black bear.

The suspense comedy was directed by Elizabeth Banks and stars Keri Russel, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Ray Liotta in his final role. The film seems to be expected to become a cult classic and has received positive reactions from both critics, who have given it a 71% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, and audiences agreeing by giving it a 73% audience score.

Lionsgate’s Jesus Revolution finished #3 on its opening weekend with a gross of $15.5 million. The official movie description reads:

In the 1970s, young Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney) is searching for all the right things in all the wrong places: until he meets Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie), a charismatic hippie-street-preacher. Together with Pastor Chuck Smith (Kelsey Grammer), they open the doors of Smith’s languishing church to an unexpected revival of radical and newfound love, leading to what TIME Magazine dubbed a “Jesus Revolution”

Critics have given Jesus Revolution mixed reviews, rating it 56% rotten on Rotten Tomatoes, but audiences are weighing in with an overwhelmingly positive 99% audience score.

Audiences STILL can’t get enough of James Cameron’s Avatar: The Way Of Water, which took the #4 spot, with an additional $4.7 million in ticket sales, a weekly drop of 28% in its eleventh weekend.

Puss In Boots: The Last Wish, the other very successful holdover, took the #5 spot with $4.1 million in its tenth weekend, a drop of only 23% from last week’s results. Magic Mike’s Last Dance slipped from #3 down to #6, earning $3 million, a steep 45% drop from last week.

Knock At The Cabin continued to drop down the top ten list from #6 to #7 and dropped 53% in ticket sales. Paramount’s 80 for Brady, Sony’s Missing, and A Man Called Otto round out the top ten list.
