Aaron Rodgers stars in Amberjack Dress Shoes mockumentary

Aaron Rodgers, the New York Jets quarterback, may have had his season end prematurely due to an Achilles tear, but his presence in the endorsement game remains strong. Rodgers, who is also an investor in Amberjack dress shoes, has teamed up with the brand for a humorous mockumentary-style campaign.

Amberjack, in collaboration with creative agency Bacon & Eggs Media, has released a two-minute workplace comedy featuring Rodgers as an everyday co-worker at Amberjack.

Kia Zomorrodi, Chief Creative Officer at Bacon & Eggs, revealed that the collaboration came about when Amberjack approached them, expressing Aaron Rodgers’ interest in investing in the brand and creating content for an ad campaign.

The resulting film, directed by Quinn Wilson, showcases Rodgers using his football moves and strategies in an office setting, resulting in comical situations.

The video hilariously references real-life events, including Rodgers’ visit to a complete-darkness retreat earlier this year to make a decision about his football career. In the ad, Rodgers wears an eye mask and asks a co-worker to turn off the lights to help him decide whether the company should prioritize insole or outsole features in its shoes. Watch below:

Zomorrodi explained that they aimed to incorporate pop-culture headlines about Aaron Rodgers into the script to make it a seamless fit for him, rather than creating a new character for him to portray in an office setting. Rodgers was fully on board with the humor, even suggesting using a mask for one scene.

Scheduling the shoot posed challenges, especially with HBO picking up the New York Jets for the new season of Hard Knocks, making Rodgers’ availability unpredictable. Nevertheless, they successfully completed the project.

Rodgers became involved with Amberjack in 2020, even before the brand officially launched. He became an investor in 2021, citing his admiration for the brand’s focus on sustainability and product innovation.

Despite the setback of his injury, the campaign will proceed as planned, as Rodgers remains a New York Jet and a football legend.
