45th Annual Telly Award winners announced

The 45th Annual Telly Awards have announced their winners, recognizing excellence in video and television across various screens. This year’s awards saw a record-breaking 13,000 entries from independent production studios, major brands, and networks worldwide, including notable organizations like Adobe, Al Jazeera Media Network, CBS Sports, Clinton Foundation, and NASA Television.

Asharq News was honored as the “Telly Company of the Year.” Their winning entries include Asharq Business with Bloomberg Tech+ Show in Video Journalism, Asharq News Conflict in Darfur Story in Explainers, and the Show Opening Segment for COP 28.

Notable winners this year included companies and individuals such as Olivia Rodrigo, Paris Hilton, Drake, and Jeremy Allen White. Specific projects that stood out included Paramount Pictures’ “Viral Mission Impossible Theme Song” and PepsiCo’s “You Belong Here” campaign, which highlighted accessibility and the contributions of associates living with disabilities. “The caliber of the work this season has truly reflected the theme of going beyond the frame. Our industry is experimenting with new technologies and crafting compelling stories in multiple mediums,” shares Telly Awards Managing Director Amanda Needham. “The Telly Awards is uniquely positioned to meet the industry where it’s actually making work, be that on television or TikTok.”

Reflecting the industry’s evolution, the Telly Awards introduced new categories such as Generative AI, Thought Leadership, Brand Collaboration, and Accessibility. The judging panel was diverse, featuring industry leaders like Nathalie Van Sasse Van Ysselt of MSG Sphere Studios and Barry Christie of Meta Creative Shop.

Entries came from 56 countries, with a strong emphasis on documentary filmmaking, video journalism, immersive experiences, branded content series, and traditional TV commercials. The awards highlighted significant social impact work from organizations like Mother Jones, Al Jazeera Digital, and ProPublica. Sawhorse Productions saw breakout wins in immersive and interactive categories with brand work for Roblox featuring FENTY and Olivia Rodrigo.

The “People’s Telly Awards,” selected by public vote, featured winners like Netflix, SkyNews Arabia, and the Miami Dolphins. In addition to the awards, the Telly Awards continue to engage with the industry through original programming, including podcasts and the “Hot Takes” interview series, featuring discussions on AI tools, influencer marketing, and measuring social impact in entertainment.
