Actress, Mother and Environmentalist, Zooey Deschanel (New Girl, 500 Days of Summer, Elf), is focusing on making a difference this summer and pushing new ways to improve climate change. The celebrity has turned to home fragrance brand, eco-friendly Air Wick and the World Wildlife Fund to accomplish this.
Inspired by her two children – Charlie Wolf, 3, and daughter Elsie Otter, 5 – the actor, singer-songwriter, producer, and current co-host of ABC’s The Celebrity Dating Game has been on an entrepreneurial mission in recent years, supporting passion initiatives from reconnecting people with their food to creating a fun way to plant flowers.
She acknowledges her passion for wildflowers and their pollinators grew after she hosted an Amazon Prime 2017 series called Your Food’s Roots, and taught viewers about where their food actually comes from.
Given that the WWF’s purpose is to connect people to nature and thrive, it was natural for Zooey and Air Wick to team up. Together, they will raise awareness of the critical need for more wildflower habitats and encourage households to take action to help restore nature for the benefit of us all.
Through their partnership, one billion square feet of native wildflower and grassland habitats will be reseeded in the Northern Great Plains over the next 3 years.

Zooey spoke with Reel 360 about her recent collaboration with Air Wick and shares “I am so happy to be working with Air Wick and World Wildlife Fund to help people make small changes so we all, together, can ensure the preservation of our ecosystem. “
When asked about this special collaboration she told Reel, “Every day we lose acres of grasslands and wildflowers that are home to many wildlife species. It is important that we take the steps to preserve them now before it is too late. I am proud to join Air Wick and support their commitment to giving back to our environment and Wildflowers.”
Zooey offered additional ways we can get involved. “There are so many small steps we can take to make improvements to our wildlife and environment. By just planting a wildflower box in your garden, you can help save countless wildlife species like honeybees and hummingbirds that rely on wildflowers to live. I am so happy to partner with Air Wick to bring wildflower seeds to both new and experienced growers.”
