Joe Goldberg’s twisted tale is coming to an end. Netflix’s You will conclude with its highly anticipated fifth and final season, premiering April 24, 2025. Returning to where it all began, Joe (Penn Badgley) is back in New York City, seemingly settled into his latest reinvention as a devoted husband. But as past sins and old obsessions resurface, his carefully curated existence teeters on the brink of collapse.
The new season picks up three years after Joe and Kate (Charlotte Ritchie) left London. Now the CEO of the Lockwood Corporation, Kate is thriving in the corporate world, while Joe plays the role of her charming and supportive husband. But as longtime You fans know, Joe’s past is never far behind, and the ghosts of his crimes threaten to unravel everything he’s built.
Showrunner Michael Foley describes the season as a full-circle moment: “We loved the idea of bringing Joe back home as a very different person than he was in Season 1. At the core of our final story is the battle between who he was and who he wants to be.”
This season introduces new complications for Joe, including Bronte (The Handmaid’s Tale’s Madeline Brewer), an enigmatic playwright who rekindles his nostalgia for the man he used to be. He’ll also navigate the dangerous dynamics of his wife’s family, including ruthless CFO Raegan Lockwood (Anna Camp), her manipulative twin Maddie, and their outsider brother Teddy (Griffin Matthews), who may be Joe’s only ally. A Cast of New and Familiar Faces

Joining the final season is a strong supporting cast, including Natasha Behnam (The Girls on the Bus) as the fiercely loyal Dominique, Pete Ploszek (Parks and Recreation) as golden-boy brother-in-law Harrison, and Nava Mau (Baby Reindeer) as Detective Marquez, who could pose a threat to Joe’s secrets.
But the biggest twist may come from the past. According to Badgley, a familiar face from previous seasons will return, hinting that one of Joe’s surviving victims is coming back to haunt him. Will it be Ellie (Jenna Ortega), the orphaned teen he tried to protect in Season 2? Or perhaps Dr. Nicky (John Stamos), the therapist framed for murder in Season 1? With so many loose ends left untied, You promises a final season packed with shocks, revenge, and reckoning.
Badgley teased that You’s ending will be both thrilling and reflective. “Can Joe finally evolve? Can he accept himself? That’s the real question,” he said. One thing is certain—when the final curtain falls, Joe Goldberg’s story will end exactly as it should.
