The co-founder of WWE, Vince McMahon, is currently under federal investigation regarding allegations of sexual assault and sex trafficking, as reported by the Wall Street Journal.

Prosecutors in New York have reportedly reached out to individuals who claim to be victims of McMahon’s alleged sexual misconduct. The investigation comes in the wake of a lawsuit filed by former WWE employee Janel Grant, accusing McMahon of sexually abusing her and trafficking her to other individuals within the wrestling organization.

McMahon resigned from his position at WWE last week following Grant’s lawsuit. He has vehemently denied the allegations and expressed confidence that the federal investigation will not uncover any wrongdoing.

In a statement to the Journal, McMahon stated, “I intend to vigorously defend myself against these baseless accusations, and look forward to clearing my name.”

The story also noted that WWE did not respond to inquiries regarding the investigation or the specific allegations made by individual women.

Grant, who previously worked in WWE’s legal and talent departments, detailed disturbing allegations in her lawsuit filed in a Connecticut federal court. Among them, she claimed that McMahon defecated on her head during a threesome in May 2020 and allegedly sex-trafficked her to other WWE executives. Grant also cited a text message purportedly sent by McMahon in May 2020, which read, “I’m the only one who owns U and controls who I want to f— U.”
