Wicked, Dune: Part Two, Emilia Pérez, Saturday Night, and The Wild Robot were among the top feature film winners at the 72nd Annual Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE) Golden Reel Awards, held Sunday at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles.
The Golden Reel Awards celebrate excellence in sound editing, sound design, music editing, and foley artistry across film, television, and gaming.
Television winners included Shōgun, Ripley, The Penguin, and Only Murders in the Building.
In addition to competitive awards, two honorary accolades were presented: Kevin Costner received the prestigious Filmmaker Award, while supervising sound editor Greg Hedgepath, MPSE, was honored with the Career Achievement Award. Comedian Patton Oswalt returned as host for the third time, keeping the evening lively. MPSE President David Barber led the ceremony, as members of the sound community gathered to recognize their peers.
As a special tribute, the MPSE invited Los Angeles firefighters to attend the event as honored guests, applauding their bravery during the recent L.A. wildfires.
