Rocket and Redfin are using the Super Bowl stage to deliver a simple but timely message: being a good neighbor still matters. Debuting during Super Bowl LX, the new spot, America Needs Neighbors Like You, explores how small acts of kindness can turn strangers into neighbors and help neighborhoods feel like home. The film serves as a rallying cry for connection, resilience, and the quiet strength that emerges when people show up for one another.
Set to Lady Gaga’s reimagined version of Fred Rogers’ iconic Won’t You Be My Neighbor?, the ad follows two teenage girls from different backgrounds whose lives intersect after major family transitions. As they navigate new schools, shifting friendships, and unfamiliar routines, the story reveals how empathy and shared experience can bridge divides and create belonging. Watch below:
“Moving is one of the most meaningful decisions a family can make,” said Jonathan Mildenhall, Chief Marketing Officer of Rocket Companies. “In Rocket and Redfin’s first shared commercial, we show how changing friendships, new schools, and rebuilding social circles can be especially difficult for kids. These two girls demonstrate how kindness, when it shows up at the right moment, can transform a new place into a true community.”
The story reflects a reality shared by millions of Americans. Nearly 40 percent of households with children relocate at some point, with one in five moves tied to major family transitions such as divorce or a growing family. For parents of teens, that disruption carries emotional weight, with more than 60 percent reporting their children experience social anxiety around moving.
Despite that, a meaningful connection isn’t guaranteed. Only about a quarter of Americans say they know most of their neighbors by name. Yet when relationships do form, their impact is significant: nearly seven in 10 people have helped a neighbor or received help in the past year. Homeownership further strengthens that bond: 71 percent of homeowners report a strong sense of community, underscoring how stability and neighborliness go hand in hand.
“Our core creative idea, Own the Dream, reflects the belief that homeownership is about more than a transaction,” Mildenhall added. “Stability is what allows communities to thrive. When people feel rooted, they’re more likely to show up for one another. That’s the role housing plays in strengthening neighborhoods, and why neighborliness is essential.”
America Needs Neighbors Like You marks the second season of Rocket’s Own the Dream platform, inspired by the milestone of homeownership and the emotional complexity that comes with moving. Throughout 2026, Rocket and Redfin will continue sharing stories, data, and practical tips that encourage neighborliness and strengthen American communities.
The 60-second spot was created in partnership with Mirimar, Rocket’s creative agency of record, Zenith, Rocket’s media agency of record, and directed by Henry-Alex Rubin. It will air during the second quarter of Super Bowl LX on February 8.
