
After a five-year hiatus, SDCC is back in full force. At the “Jim Lee & Friends” panel during San Diego Comic-Con, fans were treated to an exclusive first look at the upcoming Max Original adult animated series Creature Commandos.
Set to debut this December on Max, the series will be the inaugural title kicking off the new DC Universe.
Jim Lee, President, Publisher, and Chief Creative Officer of DC Comics, introduced a surprise greeting from filmmaker and DC Studios Co-Chair and CEO James Gunn. Gunn expressed his excitement, stating that he wanted the fans in the room to be the first in the world to see the official teaser for the seven-episode series.
Creature Commandos tracks a secret team of incarcerated monsters recruited for missions deemed too dangerous for humans. When all else fails…they’re your last, worst option. Watch the trailer below:

Creature Commandos is written and executive-produced by Gunn. The series is based on DC characters and produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation. Additional executive producers include Peter Safran, Dean Lorey, and Sam Register, with Rick Morales serving as a supervising producer.
Fans of the DC Universe have much to look forward to with this unique blend of animation and storytelling, promising a thrilling and adventurous ride with a team of monstrous anti-heroes. The teaser has already sparked significant buzz, and anticipation is high for the series’ December premiere.
