Warner Bros. releases first poster for Momoa’s ‘Aquaman’

Aquaman

We are just days from San Diego Comic Con and from director James Wan dropping the trailer for Aquaman this Saturday in Hall H.

The one-sheet, reminiscent of Pixar’s poster for Finding Nemo, features Jason Momoa’s titular Atlantean hero front and centre, while multiple sharks, whales, turtles and various other sea creatures converge behind him. To be honest, the REEL360 team likes the poster and even the tagline, “Home is Calling.” That said, what is up with the leather pants?

Apparently, we’re not the only ones who questioned the choice, so Wan had this to say on Twitter:

So much is riding on Aquaman as Warner Bros., aside from Wonder Woman, has not really been able to get out of the starting gate. We don’t need to go into how much of a disappointment Justice League was.

The film reveals the origin of half-human, half-Atlantean Arthur Curry and takes him on the journey of his lifetime–one that will not only force him to face who he really is, but to discover if he is worthy of who he was born to be… a king.

Directed by James Wan, Aquaman stars Jason Momoa as Arthur Curry, Amber Heard as Mera, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta, Patrick Wilson as Orm, Dolph Lundgren as Nereus, Temuera Morrison as Thomas Curry, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulko and Ludi Lin as Murk.

Aquaman is set to hit theaters on December 21, 2018. So we shall see. Stay with REEL360 as we post the first trailer when it’s released.
