Stella Artois is kicking off its 2025 campaign with a bonkers Super Bowl LIX commercial that blends humor, heart, and a touch of fantasy. Titled “David and Dave,” the spot stars David Beckham and introduces Matt Damon as his long-lost brother—“The Other David.”
This marks the next evolution of Stella Artois’ For Moments Worth More campaign, which builds on last year’s A Taste Worth More by emphasizing the power of meaningful connections over a cold Stella.
The spot, from Artists Equity Advertising, takes viewers into a world where the legendary athlete and style icon David Beckham discovers his twin brother, “Dave Beckham,” played by longtime Stella Artois ambassador Matt Damon. The two reconnect over cold beers and hot wings, discovering their similarities, differences, and, most importantly, their mutual love for Stella Artois.
Matt Damon, who has partnered with Stella Artois for a decade, shared his enthusiasm about the campaign, saying, “I can’t wait to keep telling the story of ‘David and Dave’ all year and celebrating those moments in life that mean more. The Beckham brothers are here to stay, and Stella Artois will be there with us every step of the way.” Watch below:
Anheuser-Busch’s Premium Vice President, Chris Jones, described the campaign as a celebration of everyday moments made more memorable with Stella Artois. “By working with two of the most genuine and committed partners, we’re putting Stella Artois at the heart of the cultural conversation. This campaign reminds us to cherish real connections, and we couldn’t imagine a better way to launch it than at the Super Bowl.”
The 60-second Super Bowl spot is just the beginning. David and Dave will serve as the launchpad for a full-scale national marketing effort, extending throughout 2025 across television, digital, social, retail, and out-of-home placements. Multiple follow-up ads will continue to expand on the story of Beckham and Damon’s fictional brotherhood, showing their evolving relationship and the small but special moments they share over a Stella.
The campaign was developed in collaboration with Artists Equity Advertising, the creative division of the artist-led studio behind one of last year’s top-performing Super Bowl ads. Executive Creative Director Brandon Drew Jordan Pierce explained that the concept for David and Dave stemmed from one simple question: “What are some amazing life moments that deserve a Stella Artois?” He added, “In 60 seconds, we hope to make people feel something real and leave them excited for the next chapter in the story.”
