Tram crashes at Universal Studios Hollywood

Approximately fifteen people were injured in a tram crash at Universal Studios Hollywood on Saturday evening, prompting a swift response from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. The incident occurred at approximately 9 p.m. at the theme park located at 3900 Lankershim Boulevard in North Hollywood.

According to investigators from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, none of the injuries are deemed critical, and all are reported as non-life-threatening.

The cause of the crash is suspected to be a mechanical failure of the tram system. Fire Department crews arrived on the scene to provide immediate assistance to those injured.

SkyCal, a local news helicopter, flew over the area and captured footage of paramedics attending to a group of people on-site. Another group was led away from the tram and safely transported onto a bus.



In response to the incident, Universal Studios Hollywood officials released a statement: “There was a tram incident at the theme park tonight that resulted in multiple minor injuries, confirmed by the LA County Fire Dept. We are working to support our guests and understand the circumstances that led to the accident. The safety and well-being of guests and staff remain a top priority for Universal Studios Hollywood. As investigations into the crash continue, the theme park is cooperating with authorities to determine the exact cause of the incident.”
