Tool has added award-winning filmmaker Patrick Fileti to its director roster for U.S. commercial representation.

The multidisciplinary director and editor joins the creative production company after being named CICLOPE’s 2026 Director of the Year, Asia Pacific, in recognition of his work on Go Mongolia.

Fileti’s body of work spans documentary and fiction, with campaigns for brands including Google, Canon, Lexus, Porsche, WWF and others. Most recently, he directed Etihad Airways’ “Beyond Borders,” a global project centered on individuals whose lives were changed by crossing borders.

“Everyone at Tool is ecstatic to welcome Patrick to our roster,” said Michelle Towse, Managing Director of Tool.

Towse pointed to Fileti’s ability to create work that feels observed rather than staged.

“There’s a quality to Patrick’s work that’s hard to name and impossible to fake,” she said. “A distinctive voice drawn to the emotional texture of real life.”

Fileti’s work on Go Mongolia also earned Best Cinematography and Best Use of Music honors at CICLOPE.

His broader awards history includes a Titanium Grand Prix at Cannes Lions for WWF’s Earth Hour, along with recognition for work inducted into the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Clio Hall of Fame.

For Fileti, the move is about finding a production partner aligned with both craft and experimentation.

“I always start with the emotional truth of a story and build everything else around that,” he said. “As technology changes filmmaking, I think that instinct matters more, not less.”

He added that Tool’s balance between emerging technology and human storytelling was a major part of the appeal.

“Tool gets that balance, pushing into new technology without losing the human moments that actually make a story land,” Fileti said.

Tool will represent Fileti’s commercial career in the United States effective immediately. REEL 360 News wishes Patrick the best of luck at Tool.
