The trailer for HBO’s House of the Dragon S2 is fire

It’s here! HBO has officially released the teaser for the highly anticipated second season of the HBO Original drama series, House of the Dragon. The teaser was unveiled during the CCXP23 panel in São Paulo, Brazil.

The upcoming eight-episode season is set to debut in the summer of 2024 on HBO and will be available for streaming on Max.

The logline for House of the Dragon reads: “Based on George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, the series, set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, tells the story of House Targaryen.”

The footage includes some intense dragon war action that is nothing short of fire! “There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin,” intones Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best). “And no war so bloody as a war between dragons.” Watch below:

Returning cast members for Season 2 include Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, Emma D’Arcy, Eve Best, Steve Toussaint, Fabien Frankel, Ewan Mitchell, Tom Glynn-Carney, Sonoya Mizuno, and Rhys Ifans. Additional returning cast members are Harry Collett, Bethany Antonia, Phoebe Campbell, Phia Saban, Jefferson Hall, and Matthew Needham.

The new cast for Season 2 includes Clinton Liberty as Addam of Hull, Jamie Kenna as Ser Alfred Broome, Kieran Bew as Hugh, Tom Bennett as Ulf, Tom Taylor as Lord Cregan Stark, and Vincent Regan as Ser Rickard Thorne. Previously announced new cast members for the second season include Abubakar Salim as Alyn of Hull, Gayle Rankin as Alys Rivers, Freddie Fox as Ser Gwayne Hightower, and Simon Russell Beale as Ser Simon Strong.

The creative team behind Season 2 includes Co-Creator/Executive Producer George R.R. Martin, Co-Creator/Showrunner/Executive Producer Ryan Condal, and Executive Producers Sara Hess, Alan Taylor, Melissa Bernstein, Kevin de la Noy, Loni Peristere, and Vince Gerardis.
