The Penguin goes to war in final trailer for HBO series

HBO has officially unveiled the trailer for The Penguin, an eight-episode limited series from Warner Bros. Television and DC Studios, at San Diego Comic-Con.

The series, starring an unrecognizable Colin Farrell as Oz Cobb (aka “The Penguin”), continues the crime saga established by Matt Reeves’ The Batman. Fans can catch the series weekly starting Thursday, September 19 at 9:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO, with streaming available on Max.

The series explores the story of Farrell’s character from The Batman, diving deeper into his criminal underworld. It’s developed by showrunner Lauren LeFranc and promises to expand on the gritty narrative established in the blockbuster film. Watch below:

The series is executive produced by Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, Lauren LeFranc (who also writes and serves as showrunner), Craig Zobel (director of the first three episodes), and Bill Carraro.

The Penguin is based on characters created for DC by Bob Kane with Bill Finger and is produced by Reeves’ 6th & Idaho Productions and Dylan Clark Productions in association with Warner Bros Television and DC Studios. Daniel Pipski also serves as an executive producer.
