The Farmer’s Dog teams with Oprah for new podcast

Farmer's Dog

The Farmer’s Dog is partnering with Oprah Winfrey and The Oprah Podcast for a new custom mini-series focused on the emotional connection between dogs and their owners.

Announced during National Pet Month, the collaboration marks the first partnership of its kind between The Farmer’s Dog and Oprah’s podcast platform.

Titled “Life Is Better With Dogs,” the series will feature Oprah narrating real-world stories centered around wellness, companionship, healing, and the impact dogs have on people’s lives. The first episode is now available on Oprah’s YouTube channel, with additional episodes planned over the next two years.

“One of my great joys has been that I’ve been able to share my life with dogs,” Oprah said in a statement. “I think that they make life so much sweeter.”

The partnership also includes sponsorship integrations within future episodes of The Oprah Podcast, including a conversation with dog cognition expert Dr. Alexandra Horowitz discussing her book Inside of a Dog.

The first Life Is Better With Dogs episode follows Chad Brown, a Navy veteran living with PTSD and a traumatic brain injury who found healing through his Labrador service dog, Axe. Brown now leads wilderness expeditions for veterans and underserved youth through his nonprofit organization Love in King.

As part of the initiative, The Farmer’s Dog is also partnering with the USO to provide fresh food for 250 dogs belonging to military families and volunteer military therapy dogs. “We created The Farmer’s Dog after seeing firsthand the difference a switch to real food can make in a dog’s life,” said Jonathan Regev, CEO and co-founder of The Farmer’s Dog.

The campaign continues the growing trend of premium pet brands leaning into emotional storytelling and wellness-driven content as pet ownership increasingly intersects with lifestyle media, mental health conversations, and creator culture.

Honestly, Oprah plus dog stories feels less like marketing and more like a guaranteed crying session on your couch with your dog judging you from three feet away.
